Good book for learning environmental biotechnology concepts

The book arrived in a timely manner. I've only read over the first two chapters, and our professor hasn't really used it yet for any assignments in class. However, it seems decent enough to learn about needed environmental technology concepts. I found the first two chapters gave very thorough detail, so whatever depth of material you would use in class, this text should be fine.

It's not a 'book' technically

This one IS a 'booklet' and even though it's by NIMH, and there IS good basic, concise information, the cover is still off-putting (I mean isn't NIMH supposed to *reduce* stigma, *not* encourage it?), and the info in it can be found in bigger, actual books with more information to them (e.g., The Bipolar Disorder Answer Book). For $10 it's definitely not worth your money. However, since I have it, I'll keep it around incase my family ever has the desire to learn about one of the illnesses I have....but seriously, look elsewhere, there's better bang for your buck somewhere.

In a varied body of lithographs, etchings and screenprints, American painter Sam Francis (b. 1923) creates a universe out of splashes, dots, spatters and broad swaths of color. Snakes, horseshoes, sexual imagery, floral bouquets and streams emerge out of the void. Geometric shapes--triangles, concentric circles, pinwheels, wedges--sputter, fizz and decompose. Using highly individual techniques developed at his own lithography press to convey his themes, Francis draws on his extended stays in Japan, on his immersion in the works of Jung and on Jackson Pollock's drip paintings. Among the 383 color plates and 141 duotones are complex mandalas that quietly entice the viewer, and "anima prints," linear works defining the inner self as a composite of Jungian archetypes. Many of the images may seem facile, but the overall effect is both dynamic and suggestive. Lembark is a Los Angeles art consultant, Fine a curator at the National Gallery of Art.

If you own or are contemplating owning graphic work by Sam Francis, you must buy this book. The reproductions are beautiful, the descriptions accurate and detailed. Very few monographs accomplish the elegance of layout and thoroughness of these volumes. Thank you Ms Lembark and Ms Fine for a job expertly done. I can only hope you are working on a volume covering the last four years of his work.

About the Author
Dr. Keengwe is a faculty member in the department of Teaching and Learning at the University of North Dakota (UND). His primary research areas include instructional technology integration and constructivist pedagogical approaches to teaching and learning. His research has resulted in at least 100 publications in refereed journals and conference proceedings. He is the co-editor of ""Adult Learning in the Digital Age: Perspectives on Online Technologies and Outcomes"" and Virtual Mentoring for Teachers: Online Professional Development Practices.

This book reveals how nearly we remained a vibrant, vital, relevant, important, clarified, coherent, intelligent, loving, spiritual, challenging Church in the modern world, rather than the punishingly costly instrument for the personal mobilized self-glorification and brutally imposed limited vision of his successor. These words come from our final Universal, Apostolic, Catholic Pope, who does not as now treat the universal Church as a Germanic seminary classroom, passing out grades according to his particular orthodoxy.

We also read here letters written to our great saints, including Saint Luke, Saint Bernard of Clairvaux, Saint Teresa of Avila, Saint Bonaventure, etc. The collection closes with a trepidatious memo to Jesus, which we must all dare to read to nourish our own communication with our Lord and Savior.

The collection opens with a very thoughtful, reflective and instructive general essay by John Cardinal Wright inspired by our brief Pope's infectious sincere smile, and a brief eulogy for the author by Father Angelo Beghetto.

Rudi Dallos is the Programme Director of the Plymouth University Doctorate in Clinical Psychology. He also works as a clinical psychologist specialising in work with adolescents and their families.

Arlene Vetere is Deputy Director of Clinical Psychology Doctorate training at Surrey University and a family therapist, registered with the UKCP. She is also President of the European Family Therapy Association.

La dulce primera historia de amor.

He de decir que empec� este libro con las expectativas bien alta porque soy fiel seguidora de Soledad. Pero a medida que iba leyendo esas expectativas cambiaron, y si he de confesar, cre�a que ser�a una historia linda de romance, pero me encontr� con una historia que puede parecerse a nuestra primera historia de amor, lo que las elev� a�n m�s (cosa que cre�a imposible). Eso que todos hemos vivido en alg�n momento y que sencillamente cada vez que lo recordamos se nos dibuja una linda sonrisa en la cara.

Y no s�lo hablo del primer chico o chica que amamos, sino de las confidencias con nuestros mejores amigos, esa primera vez que entramos a una discoteca con identificaci�n falsa, o esas escapadas que nos echamos del colegio s�lo por flojera a entrar a alguna clase.

Todo eso forma parte de nuestra primera vez, y en esta novela lo leemos, nos re�mos con los personajes, suspirando con sus primeros besos, o hasta lloramos con sus primeras tristezas. Es un libro que habla de amistad incondicional y de aprender a conocerse. Lo recomiendo de todo coraz�n, pasar�n momento DIVINOS mientras lo leen.

El descubrir la amistad, la atraccion hacia otra persona y el verdadero amor d juventud Es lo que nos muestra esta maravillosa escritoria en Divina, yo la ame desde el principio hasta el agradecimiento que me parecio Maravilloso asi que esta mas que recomendada, la disfrutaran 100%

Una historia muy bien redactada. Para las mujeres adultas, nos transporta a nuestra adolescencia y vivimos las tramas de la historia como si revivieramos nuestro tiempo en la secundaria. Felicitaciones N. S. Luna... adore esta novela.
